Terms and Conditions
These terms govern the relationship between Katateeb Online and its subscribers. In force from 3 September 2026.
1. Who we are
Katateeb Online (“the school”, “we”) is an online school based in Amman, Jordan, providing live one-to-one lessons in Quran, the Noorani Qaida and Arabic over the internet. Our website is katateeb.online and our email is info@katateeb.online.
2. The service
The service is live one-to-one lessons (one student, one teacher) of 30 minutes each, held on Zoom at an agreed time. We do not provide group lessons or pre-recorded courses. Scheduling and follow-up happen on WhatsApp.
The school undertakes to provide a certified teacher for every paid lesson and to send a written weekly report to monthly subscribers. The school does not guarantee a particular educational outcome or a fixed period for completing any memorisation or course, as this depends on the student, their consistency, and their review outside the lesson.
3. Booking and payment
- The 15-minute intro and level check is free, with no payment attached to it.
- A lesson inside a monthly subscription costs USD 7.5. Subscriptions are USD 30 a month for one lesson a week, USD 60 for two and USD 90 for three. There is no single-lesson price outside a subscription.
- Monthly subscriptions are paid in advance and do not renew automatically: a subscription ends with the month paid for, and nothing is charged unless you pay the following month yourself. There is no cancellation to make and no notice period.
- Payment is by PayPal or Zain Cash. The school never stores card details; payments are processed by the payment provider.
- Prices are in US dollars. Any difference from currency conversion or bank fees is borne by the subscriber.
- There is no registration fee and no cancellation fee.
4. Refunds
- A subscription stopped after the first lesson: refunded less a 10% processing fee, provided we are told within 48 hours of the first lesson ending.
- From the second lesson onward: no refund — the lessons have been taken and the teacher's time was held. There is no automatic renewal in any case, so nothing further is charged.
- A lesson cancelled by the school: either rescheduled or refunded in full, at the subscriber's choice.
- Refunds are issued by the same method used for payment, within 7 working days of approval.
5. Cancellation, make-up lessons and absence
- A lesson may be cancelled or postponed with at least 24 hours' notice and is made up within the same month at no cost.
- Absence without notice, or notice given less than 24 hours ahead, counts against the month's lessons, because the teacher's time was held.
- A student arriving late does not extend the lesson; it ends at its scheduled time.
- If a lesson fails because of a technical fault on our side or the teacher's, it is made up in full.
- Make-up lessons must be taken within the same month and do not carry over to the next.
6. Subscriber obligations
- Providing a suitable device and connection, and the student attending at the agreed time.
- Treating the teacher respectfully and observing lesson etiquette. The school may end a subscription without refund in cases of verbal abuse or inappropriate conduct.
- Not recording, filming or publishing any part of a lesson without the school's written permission.
- An account is personal to one student; a slot may not be shared between students without telling us.
7. Child safety
Lessons are held in a password-locked Zoom room that nobody enters but the student and the teacher. A parent is welcome in any lesson without prior notice and without asking permission. Lessons are not recorded unless the parent explicitly asks. A child's name, face and voice are never used in any marketing material.
8. Intellectual property
Teaching materials and files sent by the school are for the student's personal use only and may not be republished, sold or used for commercial teaching. The website, its content and its logo remain the property of the school.
9. Changes to terms and prices
The school may amend these terms or its prices. Existing subscribers are notified of any price change at least 30 days before it applies to them, and the previous price remains in force until the end of the paid cycle.
10. Limitation of liability
The school's liability in all cases is limited to the amount paid for the lessons in dispute. The school is not responsible for a subscriber's internet outage or for failures in third-party applications (Zoom, WhatsApp, PayPal).
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the courts of Amman have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
