Katateeb Online is an online Quran school teaching Quran memorisation and Arabic in live one-to-one lessons on Zoom, for children aged 4 to 15 and for women, with certified female Quran teachers. A lesson is 30 minutes, and you start with a free 15-minute intro and level check — no card and no sign-up — then a monthly subscription at $7.5 a lesson, from $30 a month. There are four courses: Noorani Qaida online for absolute beginners, Quran memorisation for kids and teens, Quran and recitation correction for women, and Arabic for children who do not speak it at home. Slots are fixed in your own timezone, and scheduling and the weekly report happen on WhatsApp.

What parents ask before booking

How do I book an online Quran lesson with you?+
From the booking section at the bottom of this page: choose what you want to book (a free intro, or a monthly subscription), then enter your name, email, the student's age and your country. We confirm the slot on WhatsApp and by email within an hour during working hours, with a Zoom link to a password-locked room. No account to create, no registration fee, and no card needed before you choose. If you would rather just talk, the WhatsApp button is on every page.
Are there slots that suit the US, Canada and Europe?+
We teach from 9am to 9pm Jordan time, which in your time means: Europe and the UK — a window to roughly 7pm, with the after-school slot (4–7pm) open every day. Central Europe — to 8pm. US and Canada East — the window runs to roughly 2pm your time, so there is no after-school slot; mornings before school, or Saturday and Sunday, fit best. US Central and West — mainly weekends. We say this plainly before you book, not after — the full table for ten regions is inside the booking section.
Can I sit in on the lesson with my child?+
Yes, in any lesson, unannounced and without asking permission. Sit beside him or watch from across the room. The room is password-locked and no one enters but your child and his teacher, and the lesson is never recorded unless you ask for it.
How much do online Quran classes cost?+
A one-to-one lesson is 30 minutes, and there are two ways in, not three: a free 15-minute intro and level check, then a monthly subscription at $7.5 a lesson. That makes the monthly cost $30 for one lesson a week, $60 for two and $90 for three. No registration fee, and no auto-renewal — you pay the next month only if you want to.
Is the trial really free?+
The first meeting is genuinely free, with no payment at all: 15 minutes by appointment, in which you meet the teacher, your child reads for her so his level is measured, and a written recommendation follows saying where he should start and how often. No card, no account. Only 6 slots a week are available, because the teachers' hours are already held for subscribed students — so they go in order.
How do I pay, and do I need a PayPal account?+
Payment is through PayPal, and you can pay by bank card through it without needing a PayPal account. Zain Cash is available for clients in Jordan. We never store your card details.
My child doesn't speak Arabic at all — can you still teach him?+
Yes, and this is the case we handle most. Our teachers speak English, and we begin from the letters with the Noorani Qaida. Instructions are in English at first and shrink gradually until the lesson runs in Arabic alone.
Why is the lesson only 30 minutes?+
Because a child between 4 and 10 cannot hold attention beyond that on a screen. A 30-minute lesson a child finishes while still enjoying it produces more than an hour he finishes exhausted. There is independent evidence for this: the UK Education Endowment Foundation, in a review of 123 studies, concludes that «short, regular sessions (about 30 minutes, three to five times a week)… appear to result in optimum impact», and that one-to-one tuition delivers +5 months of additional progress. In fairness the same source notes that comparisons with groups of two or three show mixed results — but in practice the alternative to a one-to-one lesson is a circle of twenty, not a group of three. For women and teens we can join two lessons back to back.
What are your hours, and in which timezone are lessons set?+
Every day of the week, Saturday and Sunday included, from 9am to 9pm Jordan time. Your slot is fixed in your own timezone, not ours, and stays the same every week with the same teacher.
Can we change our fixed slot later?+
Yes, with 24 hours' notice and at no cost. If the change is permanent — a new school timetable, say — we look for another fixed slot with the same teacher, not a different one.
What do we need to join?+
A device with a camera and microphone, the Zoom app, a stable connection, and a copy of the Mus'haf or the Qaida book. We send the lesson link on WhatsApp before the session.
What if we miss a lesson, or our timezone doesn't match?+
Tell us 24 hours ahead and the lesson is made up within the same month. Times are set in your timezone, not ours — we teach every day of the week, Saturday and Sunday included, from 9am to 9pm Jordan time. In practice: Europe and the UK have an after-school slot every day, while the US and Canada East run to about 2pm your time, so mornings before school and weekends fit best.
